Coconut-Free Coconut Cream

Whether you’re allergic to coconuts, don’t have a can of coconut milk, or you don’t like the taste of coconut milk, this coconut free coconut cream can be swapped out for pretty much anything that calls for a thick coconut milk or cream!

You won’t believe how silky smooth the texture is! The main ingredient is silken tofu! With a dash of lemon juice for the tanginess, and a dash of maple syrup for the sweetness of the coconut milk, it makes the perfect coconut free coconut cream!

Having an allergy to coconuts can make it harder when trying to find plant based recipes! They can use a lot of coconut milk! I missed out on making so many delicious recipes because they had either coconut milk or cashew cream, I had no idea I could’ve used something so simple as silken tofu! Plus it works 100% of the time!

What can I use this “coconut free coconut cream” for?

Any recipe that calls for coconut milk or cream, you should be able to use this instead!

How to Make This Recipe

To make this recipe, in a blender, or blender cup for an immersion blender, add in one package of silken tofu, the lemon juice, maple syrup, and a dash of salt.

It’s that easy to make! Adjust for whatever recipe you’re using it in! Feel free to add another dash of maple syrup if you really want that super sweet coconut flavor!

Ingredients

  • 1 Package Organic silken tofu
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • pinch sea salt

Instructions

  • Blend all ingredients in a blender or immersion blender until smooth!
  • Add to your recipe 1:1 in place of coconut cream or milk!

Notes

Use as a 1 to 1 substitution for coconut cream, coconut milk, cashew cream or heavy cream.

I would buy this canned, like coconut milk!

As I searched the web for any coconut free coconut milks, I couldn’t find one! If you’re looking for one as well, I hope this finds you!

I missed out on making so many delicious recipes because they had coconut milk, and had no idea I could’ve used something so simple as silken tofu! This is also an amazing substitute for cashew cream as well! If you want a thicker and grittier texture, you can also use a firm tofu in place of the silken tofu!

With the discovery of sunflower butter and this silken tofu “coconut free coconut cream,” I never have to worry about not being able to make a creamy sauce due to allergies again!
